Tulsa Community College Brings Day 1 Course Materials to 20,000+ Students with BibliU

TULSA, Okla. Tulsa Community College (TCC), Oklahoma's largest community college, has partnered with BibliU to bring affordable course materials access to TCC students, expand campus store service to all four campuses, and strengthen the College's commitment to open educational resources (OER).

Tulsa Community College (TCC) went to market for a true partner that could solve a specific set of problems across its campuses. Students struggled to activate digital access codes and were bombarded with communications, making it hard to determine which materials were genuinely required. Faculty coordinated adoptions manually, passing spreadsheets between schools, and its West Campus had no bookstore presence at all.

‍

Partnering with BibliU addresses each of these directly, bringing digital course materials and campus store operations onto a single platform, with coverage at every campus.

‍

For BibliU CEO Dave Sherwood, the partnership feels especially aligned with the way TCC has evolved to serve students across the Tulsa community.

‍

“One of the things I like about TCC is that ‘meeting students where they are’ isn’t just something they say. You can see it in how they’ve grown from one downtown campus in 1970 to serving more than 20,000 students across Tulsa today — and even in programs like Air Traffic Control that are opening some pretty remarkable career paths for students. That tells you a lot about how TCC thinks. They look at what students need and find ways to bring it to them. That’s exactly the kind of partner we want to work with,” said Dave Sherwood, CEO of BibliU.

‍

Students will now receive their required course materials at a predictable cost, billed directly to their student account, with the flexibility to opt out. Faculty adopt through a single, streamlined process rather than separate workflows for digital and print, and materials are provisioned in the learning management system. Everything is ready on Day 1.

‍

The partnership also extends campus store service to West Campus, with a pop-up store at the start of the semester. TCC and BibliU are designing the student experience together, from in-store and online ordering to course materials and vending on campus. "We appreciate BibliU’s commitment to making course materials and campus store services more accessible for TCC students. The partnership will make it easier for students to get the materials they need and for faculty to manage course adoptions, while creating a more consistent experience across the College,” said Kristopher Copeland, Ph.D., TCC Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs.

‍

The platform also gives TCC visibility it did not have before: analytics on which students have their materials, which courses require no purchase because they use OER, and where access is breaking down, so problems are corrected before they affect a student's grade.

‍

TCC joins a growing community of BibliU partner institutions worldwide that partner with BibliU to deliver affordable, accessible course materials and modern campus store operations.
