Press Release

BibliU is the only provider featured on all JCA (Joint Consortia Agreement) eBook and eTextbook lots for the 2022-2026 framework

Learning enablement technology provider, BibliU, is the only business chosen for all eBook and eTextbook lots.

Purchasing consortium SUPC tenders the books, eBooks, and eTextbooks Framework Agreement every four years. The latest iteration of the Agreement selects BibliU for all eBook and eTextbook Lots

4 January 2022 - LONDON - After a comprehensive review of learning content aggregators and publishers, the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC), part of the SUMS group, has issued its learning content framework update for 2022-2026. Learning enablement technology provider, BibliU, is the only business chosen for all eBook and eTextbook lots, demonstrating the comprehensive scope of BibliU’s platform.

The higher education sector spends £10 billion on goods, services and works, annually. To ensure this money is well spent, specialised librarians and academics have thoroughly reviewed eBook and eTextbook provider resources to establish the most authoritative and comparative fit for UK university purchasing. In recognition of its exceptional customer experience, BibliU has scored particularly high in both the range of services offered within its eBooks and eTextbooks, and service support available to higher education institutions once those products have been purchased.

As a trusted source of advice and support, SUPC guides higher education institutions towards money and time-saving frameworks covering the products and services they need to purchase each academic year. SUPC not only advises its 138 HE and FE members, but the learning content tender is utilised by all procurement consortiums in the UK, excluding Scotland. This means any university looking to purchase eBook and eTextbook content over the value of £50,000 per year across the four years will be directed to the tender results for consideration. BibliU is committed to delivering value for money and accessible options to these higher education institutions.

Gavin Phillips, SUPC Category Manager for Academic Services, said: “Innovation within educational resources is a priority for institutions as the acceleration of remote learning and increasingly digital preferences continue. With the accessibility and quality afforded through our framework, UK institutions can access an affordable resource that enhances their digital offerings. We’re excited to see how our framework recommendations for 2022-2026 can help bolster the resource availability at universities that have long been patrons of striving for a better standard of education for their alumni and beyond.”

Dave Sherwood, CEO at BibliU said: “SUPC provides a fantastic service that raises the bar for educational resources, a shared ambition for SUPC and BibliU. It is vital that not-for-profit organisations like SUPC continue to have a large influence over the direction of UK education, and those working or studying with academic institutions unknowingly benefit from their dedication and diligence every day. We’re therefore very pleased to be the only provider included in all five eBook and eTextbook lots in the latest review - a testament to our product, customer service, and the hard work everyone at BibliU has put into them. Given that 70% of UK students have skipped buying course-required textbooks due to cost, BibliU will continue to innovate and offer enhanced digital resources to higher education institutions to help them provide quality and accessible education for all.”
